Radio Station Usage
The WeatherWarn Service was designed with TalkRadio and News format stations in mind. The way to use this service on radio is simply to promote it during your newscasts as a free public service. We also recommend promoting it on your Radio Station website if you have one. WeatherWarn offers free web HTML plug ins that allow visitors to your site to signup for the service. Of course your viewers can simply signup by sending an email message too.
Sponsorship Opportunities:
There are several business tie in opportunities that you can use to sponsor WeatherWarn. You can even have the sponsorship information included in each weather bulletin using the custom header and footer options of our service.
Pager Companies- you can use our optional pager email service (separate charge applies) to condense the weather bulletins for display on Alphanumeric pagers. The pager company gets a new service, you get a sponsorship contract and promotional value.
Cell Phone Companies- like pagers, many cell phones are now becoming equipped to display email. You can use our optional pager email service (separate charge applies) to condense the weather bulletins for display on Alphanumeric cell phones. The cell phone company gets a new service, you get a sponsorship contract and promotional value.
Agribusiness- farmers and the businesses that support them depend on the weather more than anybody else. What farmer wouldn't want to get a page while running his tractor to let him know severe weather is on the way?
Here are some others that you can explore; Outdoor Recreational Companies, Golf Courses, Ski resort operators, plus many others. Just about any business that weather affects would be a candidate.
Ways to use WeatherWarn on Radio:
By announcement- All you have to do is promote the service on the air by saying something like: If you'd like to signup for our free Channel xx WeatherWarn service, send an email to weatherwarn@tvweather.com and in the body of the message put SUBSCRIBE (your call letters) in the first line of the message. For example: SUBSCRIBE WXYZ
On Your Web Page- You can freely modify and use our HTML signup page to add to your existing web page where people can signup by simply typing in their email address. WeatherWarn then sends a confirming email back to them (to prevent somebody else from using their email address) and they reply to it. Once done, they are subscribed to your custom WeatherWarn Service.
Cross Promotion- If you have a meteorological service or a meteorologist with a local TV station, work with them to cross promote the service.
Print Advertising- Just a simple line in an ad telling readers how to signup for this free service.
