The Digital Video Editor 30 system is a complete video solution for the video professional. The DVE-30 provides an all-digital system that can record, playback, and output full-motion, full-screen video and true-color computer animation. The system eliminates the need for an expensive animation controller and frame-accurate videotape recorders.

The DVE-30 offers Video Engine functionality in a high-performance, low-cost desktop configuration. With a 400 MHz Pentium II™ MMX processor, the DVE-30 offers excellent processing performance for fast digital video effects and demanding editing applications, combining power and specifications to offer video and high-performance graphics in a single system.

System expansion

For the DVE-30, one PCI, one shared PCI/ISA, and one ISA slot are available for further system expansion. The DVE-30 comes with a 6.4 GB system disk, 32X CD-ROM, and 3.5-inch Imation Superdisk 120mb drive.

Recording animation

Now you can create animation video without an animation controller and an expensive frame-accurate VTR. With previous techniques, creating a one-minute tape of computer animation required hours of recording time. With the DVE-30, you can compress your animation onto a hard drive and play it back in real time. The DVE-30 can reduce the overall time needed to record animation by as much as 75 to 80 percent.

Professional-quality video

Because the DVE-30 operates in a completely digital environment, you can master an unlimited number of first-generation tape copies. DVE-30 captures video at full-frame sizes and field rates with CD-quality audio. Because both fields of video are processed, there is no loss of video resolution.

Live video capture/playback

The DVE-30 captures both audio and video in real time to the A/V hard drive. The data is captured to a standard Windows Audio Video Interleave (AVI) file using motion-JPEG compression. And because capture/compression is a one-step process, intermediate conversions are not required. The DVE-30 plays captured audio and video in real time, directly from the A/V hard drive.

In addition, you can grab individual images, based on a single video frame or field, from a captured video sequence. Multiple video clips can be edited with single-frame accuracy.
